GLA is an engineering, water resources, and environmental consulting firm providing comprehensive services in groundwater and surface water hydrology and soil science. In this position, you will work hand-in-hand with a range of professionals with backgrounds in civil and environmental engineering; hydrology and geology; soil and environmental science; geographic information system (GIS) and computer aided design (CAD); and field and laboratory technology. As a part of GLA, you will have access to 300 diverse professionals in 29 offices in the U.S. and Peru. No four year degree is required for this position, Associate’s degree in a relevant field preferred.

More about this opportunity on a day-to-day basis
Your average workday will consist of a wide variety of activities working under the direct supervision of a Project Manager (Professional Geologist and/or Professional Engineer) on environmental projects, including:
- Collecting water, soil, and air samples
- Methane monitoring
- Landfill gas monitoring
- Overseeing well drilling operations
- On-site observation of construction and comparison to the design documents
- Preparing summary reports
- Conferring with supervisory and engineering personnel and contractor to resolve construction problems
- Reviewing work progress to ensure that procedures followed and materials used conform to specifications
- Managing subcontractors on-site
- Working on project teams
This position will require travel, including possible evenings and/or weekends, and requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and work in adverse weather conditions. This position also requires that the potential employee pass a pre-employment drug screen. Potential employees must also undergo a pre-employment physical and must possess and maintain a driving record acceptable to our insurer. Position level and compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States.
