The Colorado Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) Fall Conference  will take place on September 21 through 23, 2026, in Golden, Colorado. The conference is a leading regional event for solid waste professionals focused on innovation, technical education, and environmental stewardship.

Handel’s presentation, “Groundwater Protection: Best Practices for Modern Landfills,” will explore the critical role of effective leachate management in protecting groundwater resources and maintaining regulatory compliance. He will share practical insights into landfill liner systems, leachate collection and removal, groundwater monitoring, treatment technologies, and strategies for addressing emerging contaminants such as PFAS.
